Workshops and Learning Audits

Hello. This is Dr. Will Thalheimer, President of Work-Learning Research, Inc. Thanks for clicking on our advertising. Let me briefly tell you about our workshops and learning audits.

Our Workshops teach fundamental learning factors as they relate to instructional design and e-learning development. What makes the workshops unique is that they are based on research from the world's preeminent refereed journals on learning, instruction, memory, and performance, AND they draw from practical wisdom about how these ideas can be implemented in the real world.

Our Learning Audits are generally of two kinds, (1) research-benchmarking and (2) evaluation. When we research-benchmark our clients' learning interventions, we compare them to the research-based best practices, analyzing strengths and weaknesses, and making recommendations. When we do evaluations, we provide Level 2.5, Level 3, and/or Level 4 evaluations to help you determine the benefits of your learning designs.

Integrating Audits into a Workshop creates one of the most powerful learning designs I've seen. First you get the benefits of the fundamental learning research---your folks start speaking the same language; they're better able to create innovations aligned with human learning; they know how to separate key learning factors from less-significant learning factors. THEN, when the audit results are revealed, your team sees how the learning research relates to their own work. They begin brainstorming improvements, both quick fixes and long-term strategic transformation of your learning interventions. And, with a 30-plus page report as a takeaway, they'll continue to think about their learning as they apply it later to their work.

If you're interested, please call me directly so I can answer your questions and tailor a recommendation specifically for your situation.

Call me, Will Thalheimer, at 617-666-9637. I'm in the United States east coast time zone.
