The American President George W. Bush has experienced some difficulty remembering the names of world leaders during press conferences. Assume you are a learning-and-performance expert who has been contacted by the White House to offer recommendations. The White House defines the performance goal as follows. When a particular nation is being discussed, the American President needs to be able to recall the name of that nation's leader. When a particular leader is being discussed, the President needs to be able to recall the leader's nation.


1. Where should the President practice this task to prepare for his press conferences?

A. In the room where his press conferences are held.
B. In the quiet sanctuary of the oval office.

2. How should the President practice?

A. By using flip cards, placing the name of the leaders on one side and the name of the countries on the other, and testing himself on both leaders and nations.
B. By asking a member of his staff to go through the same set of cards in the same way, but having the staff person ask him the questions out loud.
